- I did not have to specify a particular file, such as "javaw.exe" or "jvm.dll".
- Having trouble with special character.
- Another person suggested replacing the files entirely.What I did instead was to simply remove the .exe files from my system32 folder and then run java -version again, and to my delight
- Your chrome will automatically detect the bit size but still choose 32 bit download.
- Problem solved.
Then select Java->Installed JRE’s. I guess the source of my Eclipse installation is having this issue. The easiest thing to do is to go get the equivalent 32-bit Eclipse download to the 64-bit version you already have. The trick saved my time.. Besides, the solution mentioned in this thread was not about setting JAVA_HOME, but rather adding the "-vm" entry into eclipse.ini (and you never posted that file).
