I m using refill kit from Sams club and I guess that's a problem too. So my suggestions to all are if the printhead cleaning doesn't work, get a new print head for it and use ONLY Canon ink. I unchecked the box, and now all is fine.I used that setting to get a duotone effect a while back. They evaporate completely and quickly. Most 'normal' people would buy one refill per year, unless they are into digital photos.

The IP4500 OR IP4300 are superior and you can still fit Inkspeed Continous Ink systems (see youtube demo) to them despite chips.2-2.
